Terms of Service

These terms of service apply to your use of the website kieschool.nl and all associated services, including the purchase of comparison reports. By using KieSchool.nl you agree to these terms.

1. Who are we?

KieSchool.nl is an independent information platform for parents choosing a primary school. We are not part of the Dutch government, the Ministry of Education, DUO or any educational institution.

2. Nature of the service

KieSchool.nl provides:

• Publicly accessible school profiles based on publicly available data
• A proprietary scoring system based on tracking rates, test results and reference levels
• Paid comparison reports in PDF format
• User reviews on school profiles

3. Nature and reliability of data

The school data on KieSchool.nl is informational in nature only. It is sourced from public sources:

• Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO) — official government data
• Scholenopdekaart.nl — Education Inspectorate
• Allecijfers.nl — aggregated education data
• Schools' own websites (holidays, timetables, activities)

We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy or currency of the data. Use KieSchool.nl as one of several sources when choosing a school — always visit the school in person.

4. Payment and reports

4.1 Price and payment

A comparison report costs €2.99 incl. VAT. Payment is processed via Stripe, Inc. and is charged immediately. You receive the report by email and via your account.

4.2 Right of withdrawal and refunds

The report is a digital product delivered immediately upon payment. In accordance with Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights), the right of withdrawal lapses once the digital product has been fully delivered with your express prior consent. At checkout you agree to immediate delivery and the lapse of your right of withdrawal.

If you experience technical problems where the report was not delivered, please contact us via the contact form. We will resolve the issue or refund the purchase amount.

5. User accounts

You can sign in via your Google account. You are responsible for all activity that takes place through your account. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts in cases of abuse, spam or violation of these terms.

6. User content (reviews)

By posting a review you:

• Confirm that your contribution is factually accurate and represents your own opinion
• Grant KieSchool.nl a non-exclusive licence to publish the content
• Accept that we may remove reviews that are offensive, factually incorrect or unlawful

Do not include personal data of third parties (names of teachers, pupils or parents) in your reviews.

7. Intellectual property

All texts, scores, images and source code on KieSchool.nl are owned by KieSchool.nl or used under licence. It is not permitted to reproduce, reuse or commercially exploit content from KieSchool.nl without our express written permission.

School data originating from DUO/TUO is open government data and is subject to Dutch Government open data licences.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, KieSchool.nl excludes liability for:

• Inaccuracies in the school data presented
• Decisions made solely on the basis of KieSchool.nl scores
• Temporary unavailability of the website
• Damage resulting from third-party use of your account

Our liability is in all cases limited to the amount you paid for the relevant service.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted exclusively to the competent court in Amsterdam, unless mandatory consumer law designates another court.

We prefer an amicable solution. In case of a complaint, first contact us via the contact form. You can also use the European ODR platform for online dispute resolution.

10. Changes

We may amend these terms unilaterally. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance by email to registered users. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
